The summer is drawing to an end and with that our air can feel a
little unhealthy, to much sun,sea and sand can leave it dry and dull but a quick dash to the hairdressers for a little trim and a conditioning treatment and all will be well again. if moneys a bit tight why not try doing you own conditioning treatment and save a few £££££££££'s....

Q, i have a flaky scalp and im not sure how best to treat it cen you help? lou

A,flake scalp or dandruff is often to do with lifestyle, nutrition or infection, an anti dandruff shampoo should help but ifyour looking for a home remedy  that doesnt contain all the harsh ingredients the shampoos contain why not try this...

mix together apple cider with warm water (two pats vingar to 1part water). add a few drops of essential oils such as lavender or rosemary, this will cleansehe scalp more and add fragrance to the mixture (allways remember to patch test before using anything new on your skin or if you are pregnant). pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray onto your scalp no need to rinse (unless the smell bothers you)....

heres a few tips on preventing greasy hair....
  • try using a clarifying shampoo.
  • dont massage the scalp.
  • rinse hair with cool water (final rinse).
  • only put conditioner on the ends.
  • try to keep hair products to a minimum.
  • a dry shampoo used inbetween washes will keep you goin slightly longer also.
